The Love of God

by on March 6, 2012

Everyone wants to be loved! Love is the crying need of the human heart. But when people try to define love, nothing seems to be able to clearly define it.

Some describe it as “just a feeling”, others call it “butterflies” or a “fuzzy feeling”.

The idea of love has been abused so much that it is used to describe anything that you value or appreciate. The reason is because everyone is looking for love. Everyone knows they need it, knows they’ve got to have it, but how to get it and how to know its real? ….well, that’s another question.

If you feel like that or you know someone who does, there’s great news…GOD IS LOVE…and the Bible makes it absolutely clear that no definition of love means anything unless it is rooted in God.

No matter how you define love for yourself, if you can’t root your definition in God, then it is completely flawed! It will always be incomplete and imbalanced because God is the definition of love.

So whether you love your spouse, kids, parents or friends, you will never find the fullness of that love until you anchor it in God!

We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.

God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. (1 John 4:16 NLT)
