A Picture of God

by on August 19, 2013

A little boy sat down at the kitchen table with his crayons and a big sheet of blank paper, and he started to draw.

His father, noticing the boy hard at work at the table, stopped to look. “What are you doing son?”

“I’m drawing a picture of God,” said the little boy.

“But son,” the father said, “you can’t draw a picture of God. Nobody knows what God looks like.”

The little boy thought for a second and said, “well, they will when I get through!”

Most people I know would agree with the father in this story. No one knows what God looks like.

But that’s exactly one of the reasons why God created us, saved us and called us to serve Him.

He created us in His image so that we could show the world what God looks like.

For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29)

The Bible says that we are being conformed to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. And that’s the way people will see the reflection of God in us!

We all have the responsibility to represent God to the world. We’re called to show the world what Jesus is like, how He lives, & how He loves! Think about that amazing privilege we have.

The big question then is: What kind of Jesus are you representing to the world? When the world sees you, what kind of Jesus do they see?

My prayer for you this week is that you will represent Jesus in a way where everyone around you will desire to know the God you serve.

But even if you mess up, don’t get discouraged, just repent, ask Jesus to forgive you and move forward. God has called you, saved you, anointed you and will be with you every step of the way!

Have a wonderful and blessed week!

Expect a Miracle,
J Garcia
