The Tightrope and the Wheelbarrow

by on September 2, 2013

There’s a story of a great circus performer by the name of Blondin who walked across Niagra Falls. He was so good that he would walk, run, even dance across the tightrope without a net.

One day he took a wheelbarrow full of bricks and amazed the crowd by pushing it effortlessly across the cable. He turned to the crowd and said, “Now how many believe that I could push a man across the wire in the wheelbarrow?”

The vote was unanimous. Everyone cheered with their hands held high! They all believed he could do it.

Then Blondin asked, “which one of you would volunteer to be that man?”

As quickly as the hands went up, the hands went back down. Not a single person would volunteer to ride in the wheelbarrow and trust his life to Blondin.

Alot of people say, “I believe in Jesus” But how many of us who say we believe in him are wiling to trust our lives to him? Our marriages, children, our finances, and our future?

Are you willing to get in the wheelbarrow and risk everything? Are you willing to trust Jesus and place all of your faith completely in him? That’s actually what it means to have faith or to believe. Faith is not an intellectual exercise. FAITH REQUIRES A TOTAL COMMITMENT!

My prayer for you this week is that you will trust Jesus completely. That you will know that your Father loves you and has plans for you that are beyond anything you could ever imagine. All he wants is for you to trust him. Depend on him. And not doubt him.

Take that challenge today….trust God, let him walk you across the high-wire…I promise he won’t let you down!

Have a great Labor Day and a blessed week!

Expect a Miracle,

J Garcia
